Rugby Minis has been delivering fun, engaging and inclusive sports coaching across the North East for the past four years. Since launching, we have built strong partnerships with schools, nurseries and families, helping thousands of children develop confidence, fundamental movement skills and a lifelong love of being active.
Alongside our successful Rugby Minis programme, we also deliver Epic Camps, one of the region's leading holiday camp providers, creating exciting, active and memorable experiences for children throughout the school holidays.
As we continue to grow, we are expanding our school provision through Epic Sports, bringing together the very best of Rugby Minis and Epic Camps to provide schools with high-quality sports coaching, PE delivery and physical activity programmes throughout the academic year.

The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and reliable Primary School Sports Coach & Camp Manager to join our growing team.
This is a permanent employed role offering genuine variety throughout the year.
During term time, you'll become the familiar face within your allocated schools, delivering exciting and engaging sports sessions before school, during the school day and after school.
During the school holidays, you'll take on the role of Camp Manager, leading one of our Epic Camps and ensuring every child receives an outstanding holiday camp experience.
This role is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career within children's sport and education.
Annual Working Pattern
Our coaching programme follows the academic year, delivering sports provision across 35 weeks.
Coaching Terms
Autumn Term
Monday 14th September – Friday 11th December
Spring Term
Monday 4th January – Friday 12th March
Summer Term
Monday 12th April – Friday 2nd July
Outside of these coaching terms, you'll support the delivery of our Epic Camps programme as a Camp Manager.
Working Pattern
This is a full-time permanent employed position.
You'll work five days each week, with your hours spread across six days to support both our school coaching programme and our weekend Rugby Minis classes.
Your typical working pattern will include:
- One half-day off during the working week (Monday–Friday).
- One regular weekend morning (Saturday or Sunday) delivering Rugby Minis sessions.
- The remaining weekend day will be your regular day off.
We currently have two positions available:
- One coach will lead our Saturday morning Rugby Minis programme.
- One coach will lead our Sunday morning Rugby Minis programme.
Your timetable may include:
- Before-school clubs
- Curriculum PE lessons
- Lunchtime clubs
- After-school clubs
- Weekend Rugby Minis sessions
- Epic Camps during school holidays
Annual Leave
One of the benefits of joining Rugby Minis & Epic Sports is knowing the majority of your annual leave well in advance, allowing you to plan your year with confidence.
Your annual leave will typically include:
- One week in early September
- Two weeks over the Christmas period
- One week before Easter
- Additional annual leave during the Summer Holidays, with dates agreed in advance and planned around the operational requirements of Epic Camps and Rugby Minis.
This structure allows us to provide consistent staffing for our schools, holiday camps and weekend programmes while ensuring our team enjoys an excellent work-life balance.
Your ResponsibilitiesDuring Term Time
You will:
- Deliver outstanding Rugby Minis and Epic Sports sessions.
- Deliver before-school clubs, curriculum PE, lunchtime clubs and after-school clubs.
- Inspire children through fun, engaging and inclusive activities.
- Build excellent relationships with pupils, teachers and parents.
- Prepare equipment and ensure sessions are delivered safely.
- Complete registers and session administration.
- Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding and health & safety.
- Represent Rugby Minis, Epic Sports and Epic Camps professionally at all times.
Sessions during the Autumn Term will primarily focus on Rugby Minis, before introducing a wider range of sports and activities through Epic Sports as the academic year progresses.
During School Holidays
As a Camp Manager you will:
- Lead one of our Epic Camps.
- Manage and motivate a team of coaches.
- Deliver an exceptional experience for every child attending camp.
- Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding, welfare and health & safety.
- Complete daily camp administration and registers.
- Support Area Managers with the successful delivery of our holiday camp programme.
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers.
Support
You'll never be on your own.
Our experienced Area Managers provide:
- Regular mentoring and coaching support.
- Quality assurance visits.
- Professional development and training.
- Operational guidance.
- Cover for sessions where required due to illness or unforeseen circumstances.
Our aim is to help every member of our team continually develop and succeed.
Essential Requirements
- Passion for working with children.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Access to your own vehicle.
- Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
- First Aid qualification (or willingness to complete).
- Safeguarding qualification (or willingness to complete).
- Willingness to travel between schools.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Sports Coaching Qualification.
- Teaching Qualification or QTS.
- Experience delivering Primary PE or school sport.
- Experience coaching children aged 3–11.
- Experience managing children's activities or holiday camps.
- Leadership or supervisory experience.
