Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver tramper to join our logistics team. This role involves long-distance freight transportation, primarily focusing on ferry trailers across various locations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial driving, with experience in delivery operations and a commitment to safety and efficiency. Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 1 lorries, predominantly ferry trailers from the ports, ensuring safe and compliant driving at all times
- Conduct pre-journey vehicle inspections and report any defects or issues promptly
- Deliver goods to designated locations efficiently, adhering to schedules and delivery instructions
- Secure loads properly to prevent movement during transit
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with legal requirements
- Follow all road safety regulations and company policies during operations
- Assist with loading and unloading as required, ensuring proper handling of cargo
- Complete daily vehicle checks and ensure the vehicle is kept clean and well-maintained
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or delivery trucks
- Experience as a delivery driver is highly desirable
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for secure cargo transport
- Ability to work independently over long distances and adapt to changing schedules
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail for accurate documentation and load securing
- Flexibility to undertake extended periods away from home as required by tramper routes

Pay: £200.00-£230.00 per day
