The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for a reliable and enthusiastic individual to join our well-established and expanding company, based in the Dartford.
The successful applicant will work as part of a two-person delivery team, delivering stock and equipment required for solar installations from our Dartford warehouse to customer and site locations.
The usual working hours are 06:30 – 15:30, Monday to Friday, although occasional adjustments may be required to meet operational and customer requirements.
When there are no deliveries scheduled, or time is available following a delivery, the successful candidate will be expected to assist the warehouse team with general warehouse duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering stock and equipment for solar installations to sites and locations across the UK.
- Working as part of a two-person delivery team.
- Loading and unloading delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Picking and preparing orders for engineers.
- Receiving, checking and organising incoming stock.
- Dealing professionally with engineers, colleagues and other staff face-to-face.
- Scanning stock in and out of the warehouse, including deliveries, orders and returned assets.
- Using IT systems, stock control software and the company’s business management portal.
- Maintaining a strong working relationship with the warehouse team and Warehouse Manager.
- Assisting with deliveries to off-site locations around the country when required.
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised warehouse and working environment.
- Assisting with general housekeeping duties within the warehouse and associated areas.
- Undertaking any other reasonable warehouse and delivery duties required to support the operation.
- Working overtime when required, including occasional evenings or weekends.
About You
The ideal candidate will be reliable, hardworking and professional, with a positive attitude and strong communication skills.
You should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, and be able to communicate effectively with engineers, colleagues and customers.
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- Previous warehouse or delivery experience, although this is not essential.
- Excellent reliability, timekeeping and attendance.
- A strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- A professional and personable approach.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good physical fitness, as the role involves regular loading, unloading and handling of stock.
- A high level of honesty and integrity.
- Good attention to detail when handling and recording stock.
- A willingness to support the wider warehouse operation when required.
A current Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence would be preferred, but is not essential, as training may be considered for the right candidate.
