Overview
My client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced HGV Technician / Workshop Manager to oversee our heavy goods vehicle maintenance operations. This role combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring the efficient repair, servicing, and maintenance of a diverse fleet of commercial vehicles.
Duties
- Carrying out routine servicing and maintenance
- Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults
- Repairing engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and steering systems
- Using computer diagnostic equipment to identify issues
- Conducting safety inspections and MOT preparation
- Keeping accurate service and repair records
- Ensuring vehicles comply with road safety and legal standards
- Allocating jobs and organising daily workloads
- Monitoring productivity, quality, and completion times
- Managing tools, equipment, machinery, and workshop facilities
- Ordering and controlling parts, materials, and consumables
- Dealing with customers, suppliers, and contractors where required
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and software

- HGV Licence Desirable
