About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Finance Apprentice looking to develop a career in finance while working alongside an experienced team. As part of your AAT Apprenticeship, you’ll gain hands-on experience across a range of finance activities, developing your Excel and analytical skills, learning how financial processes work in practice, and building confidence when communicating with both colleagues and clients.
You’ll be supported throughout your apprenticeship and given increasing responsibility as your knowledge, confidence and capability develop.
Previous finance experience is not essential. We are primarily looking for someone with the right attitude, eagerness to learn and genuine interest in developing their skills within a finance environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Finance Apprentice, you will receive training and support while developing practical knowledge and skills in areas including:
- Excel and data analysis– using Excel to maintain financial information, analyse data, produce spreadsheets and support reporting.
- Account reconciliations – assisting with reconciliations, investigating differences and ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date.
- Financial reporting – supporting the preparation of regular reports, schedules and financial information for internal review.
- Payments – assisting with the processing and administration of payments, ensuring information is accurate and completed in line with internal procedures.
- Client correspondence – responding to routine client queries by email and providing clear, professional communication.
- Client calls – developing confidence in speaking with clients and assisting with finance-related queries where appropriate.
- Finance administration – maintaining accurate records, filing documentation and supporting the wider finance team with day-to-day activities.
- Team support – working collaboratively with colleagues and assisting with ad-hoc finance tasks and projects as required.
You will be supported by the finance team and given increasing responsibility as your knowledge, confidence and capability develop.
