Department overview
The Student Experience Team is a Professional Services function responsible for the coordination and delivery of student experience activity at School and College level. The team plays a key role in ensuring that students receive a high-quality, inclusive and engaging experience throughout their time at the University, tailored to the needs of their discipline and programme.
Working in close partnership with students, student representatives, academic colleagues, Professional Services teams and the Guild of Students, the team delivers a coherent programme of activity that supports student transition, belonging, engagement and success. This includes coordinating local student experience initiatives, supporting student voice and representation mechanisms, and ensuring that student feedback is acted upon effectively. The team operates within the University’s Student Experience Framework and contributes to shared institutional priorities through functional coordination, working collaboratively with central teams and colleagues across other Colleges. While delivery is tailored to local context, the team ensures consistency of standards, alignment with University-wide activity (such as Welcome and student engagement campaigns), and a strong focus on continuous improvement informed by data and student insight.
Through its work, the College Student Experience Team provides a key link between students, academic departments and central services, ensuring that activity is joined-up, responsive and impactful, and that students are supported to engage fully with their university experience.
