Casa Brío is coming to Penwortham.
Inspired by Spanish café culture, Mediterranean food and the relaxed way of eating and drinking we love about Spain, we're creating a place built around good food, good wine and Buenos Momentos.
We're now looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join our kitchen team and help us build Casa Brío from the ground up.
Working closely with our Kitchen Lead, you'll be an important part of shaping how the kitchen operates, from prep and service to standards, training and keeping the team running smoothly.
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting the Kitchen Lead with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Helping lead the kitchen team during service
- Preparing and cooking food to a consistently high standard
- Taking responsibility for your section and supporting other chefs when needed
- Helping with prep, ordering and stock control
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and organisation
- Helping train and support other members of the kitchen team
- Running the kitchen in the Kitchen Lead's absence
- Helping us develop and refine dishes and kitchen processes as Casa Brío grows
What we're looking for:
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef or experienced Chef de Partie
- Is confident working in a busy kitchen
- Takes pride in the food they produce
- Is organised and understands the importance of prep and consistency
- Can lead a team without taking themselves too seriously
- Has good knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen standards
- Is reliable, hardworking and genuinely enjoys being part of a team
- Wants to be involved in something from the beginning rather than simply joining another established kitchen
Experience with Spanish or Mediterranean food would be great, but it's not essential. We're more interested in the person, their attitude and what they can bring to the kitchen.
The opportunity:
This isn't a kitchen where you'll simply be handed a menu and told to get on with it.
We're building Casa Brío from the ground up and you'll have the opportunity to help shape the kitchen, the food and the way we work.
If you're looking for your next challenge and want to be part of something new, we'd love to hear from you.
