Role and Responsibilities:
- Remove metal shavings, chips and debris from steel profiles after cutting, drilling or machining
- Operate hand tools such as chisels, scrapers, wire brushes and hand grinders to clean edges and surfaces
- Prepare sheet metal components for assemble including cutting, shaping and fitting
- Ensuring steel profiles are safe to handle, free from sharp burrs or loose metal fragments
- Inspecting steel profiles for defects, damage or irregularities before they move to the next stage of dispatch
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace adhering to health and safety regualtions
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently an effectively
- Can include some heavy lifting
Requirements:
- Prior experience or knowledge in fabrication, grinding, welding or mechanical work is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Familiarity with sheet metal work and hand tools is an advantage
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks as required
- Forklift experience preferred
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am to 4:30pm & Friday 8am to 3:30pm
Pay: From £13.21 per hour
