Detached Youth Worker – Thornbury (3–5 hours per week)
We are looking for a passionate and approachable Detached Youth Worker to join our team in Thornbury. This role involves engaging with young people in their own communities and spaces - including parks, streets and local estates - helping to build positive relationships, promote wellbeing and connect young people with opportunities and support.
You will deliver outreach and detached youth work across Thornbury, including operating our mobile youth bus. Applicants must be minimum of 21 years old, hold a full driving licence, be confident driving, and be willing to drive, set up and pack down the youth bus at different locations. The ability to work independently while maintaining professional boundaries and safe practice is essential.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with young people in community, youth work, mentoring or support settings, particularly with those who may be vulnerable or hard to reach. You should be confident building trust, managing challenging behaviour professionally and working independently while maintaining clear safeguarding boundaries.
This is a flexible, part-time position of approximately 3–5 hours per week, most likely Thursday or Friday early afternoon/evening.

Level 2 Youth Work Qualification or equivalent experience preferred. However, training can be offered to the right candidate.

Hours of work: 3-5 hours per week
(Fixed for 12 months but could develop into permanent position.)
Hourly rate of pay: £12.71 - £13.33 (depending on qualifications/experience) plus additional % in lieu of holiday.
