Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support our educational team in creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment for children with SEN needs that include Autism, ADHD, complex needs and social and emotional mental health. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, students, and parents to facilitate academic progress and personal development. within an SEN based enviroment. Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual student needs, including those with special educational requirements.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, particularly those with disabilities or autism, fostering their academic and social skills.
- Support students with personalised learning plans, including creative writing activities and other specialised tasks.
- Foster a positive classroom environment by mentoring students and encouraging their participation and confidence.
- Help manage behavioural challenges through effective communication and behavioural strategies.
- Prepare teaching materials and resources to enhance lesson delivery.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents as required.
- Support students during breaks, lunch periods, and extracurricular activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in educational or supportive settings is desirable.
- Knowledge of special education practices, including working with individuals with disabilities or autism, is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students, teachers, and parents.
- Experience in tutoring or mentoring roles that demonstrate patience and adaptability.
- Creative writing skills to assist in developing engaging learning activities.
- A genuine passion for supporting children's development and inclusive education.
- Relevant qualifications or training related to special education or teaching assistance are preferred but not essential.
