Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient and smooth daily operations
- Oversee food production, ensuring dishes meet quality standards and presentation expectations
- Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, catering to diverse customer preferences
- Manage food preparation processes, maintaining consistency and excellence in every dish served
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control waste to optimise kitchen efficiency
- Train and mentor junior staff members in cooking techniques, food safety, and customer service
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment within the kitchen
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production and preparation
- Demonstrable team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively
- Solid knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Previous restaurant experience is essential
- Strong leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
- Experience in serving customers directly is advantageous but not essential
- Formal culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are preferred
