Social Media Coordinator
Location: Hemel Hempstead
Salary: £26,500 - £28,000
The Social Media Coordinator will support the day-to-day delivery of SCG’s social media activity, with a primary focus on LinkedIn and additional support for YouTube content. This is a hands-on coordination role, suited to a highly organised, creative and proactive marketing professional who is looking to develop their experience in social media, content and digital engagement within a B2B environment.
Responsibilities:
- Support the growth of SCG’s LinkedIn presence through content planning, scheduling, publishing and community engagement, with the opportunity to take increasing day-to-day ownership as the role develops.
- Work closely with the Marketing Campaigns Manager to deliver social media activity aligned to marketing campaigns, business priorities and brand guidelines.
- Draft, adapt and schedule social media content for LinkedIn and other relevant channels, ensuring messaging is clear, accurate and appropriate for each audience.
- Coordinate social media content calendars, helping to maintain a consistent posting schedule across campaigns, events, product updates, customer stories and company news.
- Monitor social media performance and prepare regular reports, highlighting key results, trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Support the execution of integrated marketing campaigns across digital channels, including content preparation, campaign coordination and post-campaign reporting.
- Liaise with internal teams and subject matter experts to gather content ideas, source updates and promote key business initiatives, events and achievements.
- Assist with the planning, coordination and delivery of internal and external events, including live social media support and post-event content where required.
Skills Required:
Essential
- Previous experience in marketing, social media or a content coordination role.
- Good working knowledge of LinkedIn and how it can be used to support brand awareness, engagement and campaign activity.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, accurate and engaging social media copy.
- Good content creation skills, including social copy, graphics and short-form video content.
- Comfortable using social media scheduling, reporting or content planning tools.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and content requests.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining brand consistency.
- Proactive, collaborative and confident working with colleagues across different teams and levels.
- Willingness to travel to events and other company locations within the UK on an ad hoc basis (1–2 times per month).
Preferred
- Experience working in a B2B marketing environment.
- Experience supporting marketing campaigns, events or product/service launches.
- Familiarity with YouTube content uploads and basic channel optimisation.
- Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar design/video tools.
- Basic video editing skills and an understanding of social-first content formats.
- An interest in telecoms, technology, IT, cyber security or business communications.
