Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Apprentice to support our early childhood education team. This paid apprenticeship offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about working with children and developing management and leadership skills within a nurturing environment. The successful candidate will assist in creating a safe, engaging, and educational space for young children, gaining valuable experience in childcare and nursery operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist qualified nursery staff in implementing daily activities and educational programmes tailored to children's developmental stages
- Support in supervising children during play, meal times, and rest periods to ensure their safety and well-being
- Help maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating nursery environment
- Engage with children through play, storytelling, and educational activities to promote social and cognitive development
- Support with administrative tasks such as preparing materials and recording observations as directed by senior staff
- Contribute to fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and team members through effective communication
- Assist in managing nursery routines under supervision, including organising activities and ensuring adherence to health and safety standards
- Support with driving duties if required, ensuring safe transportation of children when necessary
Qualifications
- Previous nursery experience or early childhood education qualification is desirable but not essential; a genuine interest in childcare is required
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
- Demonstrated management or leadership qualities, with an ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Experience working with children or in childcare settings is advantageous
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- A caring attitude, patience, and enthusiasm for supporting children's development
