Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure all food is prepared safely, maintaining proper hygiene and sanitation practices
- Assist in meal planning, portioning, and presentation to deliver appealing dishes
- Support kitchen operations by organising ingredients, utensils, and equipment efficiently
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent service
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including surfaces, appliances, and storage spaces
- Follow all food safety regulations and company policies to uphold quality standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a care home or similar setting
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
- Strong skills in meal preparation
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Previous kitchen or care home experience is preferred but not mandatory for motivated learners
- Excellent serving skills with a friendly attitude towards customers and team members
- Flexibility to work part-time hours, including weekends as needed
Pay: £13.60 per hour
