Burton-on-Trent Golf Club is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and reliable Assistant Chef to join our Food & Beverage team.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a club that is investing in its hospitality operation and working towards delivering an excellent experience for members, visitors and guests.
Working alongside our Head Chef and Food & Beverage Manager, you will play an important role in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, helping to deliver quality food across member dining, competitions, golf days and events.

About the Role
The successful candidate will work closely with the Head Chef to support the day-to-day running of the kitchen and help maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Food preparation and service
- Assisting with daily kitchen operations
- Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards
- Supporting stock rotation and storage procedures
- Assisting with functions, events and golf days
- Helping maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen
- Supporting the wider Food & Beverage team during busy periods
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working within a professional kitchen
- Takes pride in producing quality food
- Works well within a team environment
- Is organised, reliable and professional
- Has good food safety and hygiene awareness
- Enjoys delivering a great experience for customers and members
This role may particularly suit an experienced chef who is looking to step away from the pressures and unsociable hours often associated with larger hospitality operations. With core kitchen hours of 9:00am–5:00pm, this position offers a far better work-life balance than many traditional hospitality roles whilst still providing the opportunity to remain involved in a professional and rewarding kitchen environment.
Salary
Competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience.
