About the role
We're putting together a vibrant new team of occasional Bar Staff to help us deliver our programme of interesting special events, weddings and arts festivals at The Farmer's Arms. We are looking for experienced people who can deliver fantastic, consistent customer service and who have a passion for the arts. Our events run all year round and we need a team who will be able to cover our calendar of events between them. We are looking for up to 4 people to help run our bar service (staffing the bar, setting up, cashing up and cleaning down at the end of the day) and assist in other roles where needed - e.g food service. The events generally run over weekends, during the day and evening and can be both indoors and outdoors.
Current dates we need evening bar staff for (there will be many more!):
Sat. July 25th, Sunday. August 2nd, Frid. August 14th, Friday August 21st, all September weekends (Fridays & Saturdays), Friday October 2nd, Friday October 9th, Saturday October 31st, Saturday November 7th.
Person Specification:
Essential
- Significant experience working in busy pubs / bars, delivering a consistently high standard of customer service
- Excellent time-keeping, reliability and communication skills
- Capacity to update online tools in a timely fashion to communicate your availability for our events schedule
- A hands-on and can-do approach to work
- Ability to work flexibly and with good humour within a small team
- Comfortable working evenings and weekends
- Interest in and respect for rural / cultural / arts environments
- Fluent spoken English
- Legal right to work in the UK - we cannot sponsor visas
Desirable
- Food hygiene certification
- Experience coordinating small hospitality teams
- Experience working for or in festivals, arts venues or community spaces
- Driving licence and own transport
