Job Purpose
The Customer Vehicle Collection & Delivery Driver is responsible for safely collecting customers' vehicles from their homes, workplaces or other agreed locations and returning vehicles to customers after servicing, MOTs, repairs or other garage work.
The driver will represent PAK Motors professionally and provide a friendly, reliable and customer-focused service at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect customer vehicles from agreed locations and deliver them safely to PAK Motors.
- Return completed vehicles to customers at the agreed time and location.
- Carry out basic vehicle checks before collection and delivery, including visible damage, mileage and fuel level where required.
- Complete vehicle collection and handover paperwork accurately.
- Take photographs of the vehicle condition when required.
- Ensure customer keys and vehicle documents are handled securely.
- Drive vehicles responsibly and in accordance with UK road traffic laws.
- Check that the vehicle is secure before driving.
- Communicate with the garage office regarding collection and delivery schedules.
- Contact customers professionally to confirm arrival or provide updates.
- Report any vehicle damage, warning lights, faults or unusual issues noticed during collection or delivery.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding customer information and vehicle details.
- Keep the company vehicle, if provided, clean and presentable.
- Assist the garage team with general vehicle movements around the premises when required.
- Ensure all customer vehicles are returned in the same condition in which they were collected, subject to authorised repairs or work carried out by the garage.
Customer Service
The driver must provide a professional and courteous service to every customer. This includes:
- Being polite, punctual and respectful.
- Treating customer vehicles with care.
- Explaining the collection or delivery process clearly.
- Maintaining a professional appearance.
- Reporting customer queries or complaints to management promptly.
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence appropriate for the vehicles being driven.
- Good driving record and responsible driving attitude.
- Previous driving, delivery, courier or automotive experience is desirable.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Able to work independently and manage scheduled collections and deliveries.
- Good knowledge of Glasgow and surrounding areas is advantageous.
- Ability to complete basic vehicle condition checks and paperwork.
- Must be trustworthy and responsible when handling customer vehicles and keys.
Working Conditions
The role may involve travelling throughout Glasgow and surrounding areas and may require flexibility depending on customer collection and delivery schedules.
The driver may also be required to assist with vehicle movements and other reasonable duties within the garage.
