CONTRACT TYPE: Attachment / Fixed Term Contract, Full-time - September to 31 December 2026
DEPARTMENT: BBC Children in Need
LOCATION: MediaCityUK, Salford - Hybrid
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: up to £26,100 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Children in Need believes that every child should have the chance to thrive and be the best they can be.
This role will sit at the heart of our Fundraising Team, supporting our Regular Giving, Mass Participation and Schools Fundraising campaigns, and delivering our charity wide Newsletter, to raise vital income for the charity and fund our life-changing work. The Digital Assistant will play a key role in delivering our email programme, engaging our supporters, communicating our impact and creating a seamless, memorable experience for our audiences.
WHY JOIN THE TEAM
This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a busy fundraising team during the most exciting time in Children in Need’s calendar. Your work will have wide reach and huge impact – driving awareness of fundraising at Children in Need and raising income for the charity. You will have exposure to three areas of fundraising, and the opportunity to flex your creativity to shape and influence our email content. You'll work within a friendly and supportive team, and will have the unique opportunity to experience fundraising for an appeal with a large broadcast presence.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
Build clear, impactful email campaigns in Dot Digital
Build and deliver email sequences to support Regular Giving, Mass Participation and Schools Fundraising campaigns
Own track and manage the progress of email development, liaising with Fundraising and Marketing teams when needed
Report on a range of email metrics to relevant teams
Own and manage a busy email calendar, ensuring the correct content is delivered to the correct audience on time
Make clear, considered decisions on appropriate content to include in our charity Newsletter
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Experience using an email creation system (such as Dot Digital) or website content management system (such as Wordpress)
Experience working to tight deadlines, adapting to new priorities and managing time independently
Experience managing multiple deadlines, a large number of projects and several stakeholders simultaneously
Some experience copywriting to specific tone of voice or brand guidelines
Thorough attention to detail and experience of checking content for errors
