The Boiler Room is looking for enthusiastic and chatty assistant manager with love for quality drinks. Hospitality experience is required but as long as you have a big grin and a passion for hospitality and are able to work evenings and weekends then we would love to hear from you. The Boiler Room is a specialist craft drinks venue with an ever rotating selection of craft beer as well as specialist gins, wines, cocktails, whiskeys and ciders. We are looking for an individual with leadership experience to support our general manager in Birmingham.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the bar staff, ensuring smooth daily operations
- Lead all cellar management activities
- Manage and ensure compliance with food safety regulations
- Coordinate team schedules, delegate tasks, and monitor performance to optimise efficiency
- Ensure excellent customer service by supervising serving staff and addressing guest needs promptly
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards across the entirety of bar areas and customer areas
- control stock levels, ordering supplies, and manage rotational beer stock
- Implement health and safety procedures to safeguard staff and guests
- Support training programmes for new team members to allow maintenance of service standards, and operational procedures
- Foster a positive team environment that encourages teamwork, leadership development, and professional growth
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a hospitality setting, ideally in a bar enviroment
- knowledge of cocktail development and preparation
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams effectively
- Experience in serving guests in a fast-paced environment such as bars or restaurants
- Familiarity with hospitality operations including bar management and customer service excellence
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
