Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and quality control
- Ensure all food safety regulations and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain stock control
- Develop new menu items in collaboration with the management team
- Train junior staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and safety procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen at all times
- Serve food to customers when required, ensuring excellent customer service standards are met
Experience
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, and presentation techniques
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices
- Familiarity with various cooking styles and cuisines is advantageous
- Previous experience in serving customers directly is beneficial but not essential
