Waldorf Astoria London - Admiralty Arch is seeking a Breakfast Commis Chef to join the pre-opening team for this highly anticipated new luxury hotel opening later this year.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced luxury hotelier to join the founding team and help shape the guest experience at this landmark hotel.
Located at the end of The Mall opposite Buckingham Palace, Waldorf Astoria London – Admiralty Arch will feature 100 elegant rooms and suites and 17,500 sqft of private residences. The hotel will open with two signature restaurants - Coreus by Clare Smyth and Café Boulud by Daniel Boulud - bringing together two of the world’s most celebrated Michelin-starred chefs. Guests will also enjoy a world-class spa, state-of-the-art fitness facilities, and a collection of grand event spaces, including a ballroom for up to 320 guests.

Here's what you'll do during a typical day:
As a Breakfast Commis Chef, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional morning dining experience, ensuring breakfast service and buffet presentations reflect the highest standards of quality, consistency, and refinement expected in a luxury hotel environment.
Working under the guidance of senior chefs, you will develop your culinary skills while supporting food quality, hygiene standards, and cost awareness. Your responsibilities will include performing the following to the highest professional standards:
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of breakfast and buffet items, ensuring alignment with hotel and brand guidelines
- Support mise en place preparation for breakfast service and any additional meal periods as required
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness and organisation across all work areas, adhering strictly to food safety and cross‑contamination procedures
- Ensure all food items are stored correctly and meet required quality standards
- Respond supportively and professionally to guest requests or feedback as directed by senior kitchen team members
- Assist with basic food cost control measures to support departmental financial targets
- Work collaboratively with other departments and kitchen sections to ensure seamless service delivery
- Report any maintenance, hygiene, or safety concerns promptly to protect kitchen standards and efficiency
- Comply fully with hotel security procedures, fire safety regulations, and all health, safety, and food hygiene legislation
Actively support sustainable and environmentally responsible kitchen practices

What are we looking for?
A Breakfast Commis Chef within Hilton’s luxury portfolio demonstrates eagerness to learn, pride in workmanship, and a commitment to delivering elevated breakfast experiences. To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent professional culinary qualification
- Current Basic Food Hygiene certification
- A positive, professional, and team‑oriented attitude
- Clear communication skills within a fast‑paced kitchen environment
- Ability to perform consistently under pressure
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Previous kitchen experience in similar role
- Intermediate food hygiene qualification
