Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Class 2 Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, particularly with Curtain sided vehicles and experience working within in a multi drop environment, and must have a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. You must be prepared to night out from time to time, and it is a given that you will carry your night out gear with you at all times.
As Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the highest standards of service.
Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Reporting any defects that are found.
- Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery times while adhering to traffic regulations.
- Load and unload securely, ensuring that all items are transported safely.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel consumption.
- Communicate with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Valid UK driving licence with the appropriate class for commercial driving (HGV or LGV). Valid Driver CPC Card. Valid Digital Tacho Card.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in driving.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently.
- Good communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading and unloading.
