About Us
We are a well-established home-based childcare setting in Crewe.
We are looking for a reliable, trustworthy and hardworking Housekeeper & Nursery Cook who takes pride in maintaining exceptionally high standards of cleanliness and enjoys preparing healthy, home-cooked meals.
This is an independent role, ideal for someone who enjoys organising, cleaning and cooking, and who can take ownership of their daily responsibilities.
Main ResponsibilitiesHousekeeping
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the downstairs of our home.
- Clean the kitchen and all work surfaces daily.
- Clean the downstairs bathroom.
- Hoover and mop all floors.
- Dust and wipe all surfaces.
- Clean internal windows as required.
- Clean skirting boards, doors and frames.
- Deep clean white goods including the fridge, freezer, microwave and dishwasher.
- Deep clean the oven and hob.
- Empty bins and maintain waste disposal areas.
- Keep the staff kitchen and staff break area clean and organised.
- Carry out laundry duties including tea towels, aprons and cleaning cloths.
- Ensure cleaning equipment and products are stocked and organised.
- Report any maintenance issues or low stock levels.
Nursery Cook
- Prepare and cook healthy, nutritious lunches for children Monday-Friday.
- Have lunch ready to be served at 11:00am each day.
- Follow food hygiene and food safety procedures at all times.
- Cater for allergies, intolerances and dietary requirements.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness throughout food preparation.
- Complete daily food hygiene records, including temperature checks.
- Rotate food stock and minimise waste.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Is reliable, honest and trustworthy.
- Takes pride in maintaining exceptionally high cleaning standards.
- Can work independently and manage their own workload.
- Has excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Enjoys cooking fresh, healthy meals.
- Is comfortable working within a busy family home.
- Is comfortable around animals, as we have six friendly dogs and four cats.
- Has a positive, can-do attitude.
Essential Requirements
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Ofsted suitability approval (required before employment can commence).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Excellent personal hygiene and cleanliness standards.
Desirable
- Previous housekeeping experience.
- Previous experience cooking in a nursery, school, care home or similar environment.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to complete).
- Knowledge of food allergens and dietary requirements.
