We're recruiting passionate Teaching Assistants to join outstanding SEND and SEMH schools across Brighton . If you're patient, resilient and passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
Working in small class sizes , you'll have the chance to build meaningful relationships with pupils, support their emotional wellbeing and celebrate every achievement—big or small.
Whether you're an experienced Teaching Assistant or have transferable skills from care, youth work, coaching, psychology or support work, we'd love to hear from you.
As a Teaching Assistant in one of our Brighton SEND and SEMH schools , you will:

Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- Help children develop confidence, independence and resilience.
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
- Build trusting relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
- Promote a safe, nurturing and positive learning environment.
- Celebrate every success and help pupils reach their full potential.
To be shortlisted, you'll ideally have:
- Experience working with children or young people.
- Experience within a SEND, SEMH or education setting (desirable but not essential).
- Transferable experience from care, youth work, support work, coaching, residential childcare, psychology or mentoring.
- A calm, patient and positive approach.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Confidence supporting children with additional needs.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- A genuine passion for helping children succeed.
- The ability to remain resilient and adaptable in challenging situations.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
