About ZZen Engineering
ZZen Engineering is a specialist sheet metal manufacturing company providing laser cutting, folding and associated manufacturing services to customers across a wide range of industries.
We are looking for a Temporary Driver / Workshop Operative to join our team for a period of approximately 4–6 months.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining delivery driving, workshop support and general manufacturing duties. You will assist with handling materials and finished parts throughout the production process, help prepare customer orders for despatch and support various workshop operations as required.
Main Duties
- Handling sheet steel and finished components on and off laser cutting machine
- Labelling parts and preparing customer orders for despatch
- Packing, wrapping and palletising finished goods
- Loading and unloading company vehicles
- Delivering customer orders
- Unloading supplier deliveries
- Spot welding, deburring, drilling and tapping
- Assist with press brake folding operations when required
- Support production and workshop activities
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
- Carry out routine vehicle checks and reporting any issues
Requirements
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Must be aged 25 or over for vehicle insurance purposes
- Forklift truck licence and experience preferred
- Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual handling duties
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
- Positive attitude and willingness to assist in different areas of the workshop
- Professional manner when dealing with customers, suppliers and colleagues
- Previous experience within similar manufacturing or workshop environment would be advantageous
Hours of Work
Monday to Thursday: 8.00am – 4.30pm
Friday: 8.00am – 2.00pm
