We are looking for a caring and compassionate individual who can provide one to one support for a specific pupil, or a small group of pupils while supporting their academic, emotional and behavioural development.
Job Details
Salary: WS Grade 3 - SP 3-4, £24,796 - £25,185 pro rata (£17,499-£17,773 actual)
Contract Type: Fixed Term for one year to 31st August 2027
Working Pattern: Part time, 31 hours per week, worked over 5 days, term time only

What You Need to Succeed
Overall Responsibility
- To provide dedicated 1:1 support for a named pupil with Special Educational Needs
and Disabilities (SEND), enabling them to access learning, participate fully in school life
and achieve their individual targets.
- To work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and other professionals to implement
personalised strategies and interventions that meet the pupil’s specific needs.
- To contribute to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare and personal care of
children and young people in accordance with the requirements of Keeping Children
Safe in Education.
- To promote the pupil’s independence, self-esteem, confidence and social inclusion while
supporting their academic, emotional and behavioural development.
Main duties and responsibilities
- To work with staff as part of a professional team to support teaching and learning for targeted
pupils
- Support and compliment planned learning activities/teaching programmes as agreed
with the teacher
- Participate in planning and evaluation of learning activities with the teacher, providing
feedback to the teacher on pupil progress and behaviour
- Participate in arranging/providing resources for lessons and activities under the
direction of the teacher
- Support behaviour management and reinforcing agreed rules when working with
pupils.
- Support pupils individually, or in small groups, in social and emotional well-being,
reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate
- Administer medication in accordance with an agreed plan under direction of
healthcare practitioner and following appropriate training
- Assist with break-time supervision including facilitating games and activities
- Assist with escorting pupils on educational visits
