Housekeeper/Kitchen Assistant – More2Childcare Greenwich SE10
More2Childcare is an Outstanding-rated nursery in Greenwich, South East London, and we are looking for a reliable, organised and hardworking Housekeeper/Kitchen Assistant to join our established team.
This is a temporary position to cover sickness, with the possibility of becoming a permanent role for the right person.
This is a Monday to Friday, all year-round position based at our Greenwich SE10 nursery. Please only apply if you are able to work these hours consistently.
Location: Greenwich, SE10 (in person)
Hours: Monday to Friday, all year round –11AM to 5.30 PM with a 45 minute minute unapdi break.
Please note: we are unable to provide visa sponsorship. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK.
The role will include supporting the smooth running of the nursery kitchen, ensuring children receive safe, nutritious meals and snacks, while maintaining excellent hygiene standards throughout the nursery.
The role includes:
- Preparing and serving pre-prepared meals and snacks for children
- Ordering food, milk and kitchen supplies, ensuring stock levels are maintained
- Receiving and checking food and milk deliveries
- Ensuring milk is correctly labelled, stored and distributed safely
- Following the nursery’s allergy and dietary procedures to protect children and ensure their individual needs are met
- Maintaining accurate records including food temperatures, cleaning schedules and kitchen checks
- Ensuring high standards of kitchen hygiene and food safety
- Supporting with nursery laundry
- Cleaning duties across the nursery as required to maintain high standards
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous kitchen, catering or hospitality experience (nursery experience desirable but not essential)
- Understands the importance of allergy management and food safety when working with young children
- Is organised, reliable and able to manage ordering and stock control
- Takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment
- Is flexible and willing to support the wider nursery team when required
- Has a positive attitude and strong attention to detail
A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable (or willingness to complete this training).
