Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated GCSE English Teacher to inspire and educate students in preparing for their General Certificate of Secondary Education examinations. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons, foster a positive learning environment, and support students in developing their analytical and writing skills. Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging GCSE English lessons that meet curriculum standards
- Assess student work regularly and provide constructive feedback to support progress
- Develop customised learning materials tailored to diverse student needs
- Monitor student attendance and behaviour, promoting a positive classroom environment
- Organise revision sessions and extra-curricular activities to enhance learning outcomes
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop school-wide initiatives and share best practices
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress in accordance with school policies
- Support students in exam preparation, including practice assessments and study strategies
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification in the UK
- Proven experience teaching GCSE English or similar secondary education levels
- Strong knowledge of the UK curriculum for English Language and Literature
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan effectively and manage classroom activities
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to motivate students
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet varied learning needs
- A passion for education and a commitment to fostering student achievement and well-being
