Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Serving Assistant to join our dynamic and small team for our bakery.
The ideal candidate will possess a passion for guest services and a keen interest in food safety and preparation. As a Serving Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring an exceptional experience for our guests, contributing to the overall success of our the pop ups.
This is a zero hour contract, however candidates with full availability on Saturday and Sundays will have an advantage.
Typical working hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm on Saturday with a 5-8 hour shift.
And Sunday events are 12.30 - 6.15 pm
With additional shifts at busy seasons.
Shifts will be once every two weeks usually with some overlaps of double weekends depending on the event schedule.
Locations can vary between Lisburn, Belfast and the odd time further afield. most weeks transport can be arranged. However some weeks you may have to make your own arrangements. We mainly operate in Bow Street Mall & Victoria Square.
Duties
- Assist in food preparation and presentation, ensuring adherence to food safety standards for the bakery mainly in Lisburn and the crumble and drink stand which is based in Victoria Square.
- Provide excellent guest services by greeting customers warmly and addressing their needs promptly.
- Support Co workers and adhere to management.
- Engage in upselling techniques to enhance the dining experience and promote menu items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area, kitchen, and service stations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to help with prep.
- Utilise basic maths skills for accurate order processing and handling payments when necessary.
- Manage time effectively to ensure all tasks are completed within service periods.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is highly desirable.
- Strong guest service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
- Basic culinary skills and familiarity with food preparation techniques are advantageous.
- Ability to upsell menu items through effective communication and enthusiasm.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to help others are essential traits for success in this role.
