Sabeti Wain Aerospace Ltd is a world leader in the design & manufacturer of bespoke aircraft interiors and upholstery systems.
We are looking for a new Team Member to join our busy Production Office
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Oversee imported goods into the UK, and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations;
- Imports are subject to import quotas, tariffs, trade agreements and HMRC regulations, as such this role involves checking all requirements are in order;
- Responsible for managing full import process of a shipment, including liaising with customers, suppliers, freight forwarders / agents and customs;
- Providing clearance instructions to the freight forwarder / agent to ensure Customs clearances are obtained quickly and deliveries are made in good time.
Main duties will include:
- First point of contact for all imports related cases;
- Responsibilities for the movement of imported goods, ensuring transit and delivery is made on time, whilst liaising with internal teams & colleagues
- To provide clearance instruction, and to ensure such are legal and legitimate;
- To check the goods in as they arrive against paperwork to ensure all goods ordered are accounted for;
- To manage deadlines and perhaps some challenges, as such an element of negotiation is required;
- To check all import cost and customs charges to ensure maximum profitability for the organisation;
- To keep and improve the established contacts and relationships with HMRC to ensure efficient transfer of goods through the legal process;
- To process Monthly reconciliations against the MSS data and reconciliations of the company deferment account;
- To update internal procedures relating to imports and customs requirements
- Full responsibilities for maintaining correct and detailed record of all imports (keeping all files for 6 years) and provide all imports related information to HMRC on their request.
The successful candidate should demonstrate the following key skills & abilities:
- Possess good organisational and analytical skills;
- Have good communication skills – in written and spoken English;
- Full knowledge of MS Word and Excel, with knowledge of Business Central would be useful but not essential;
- Have an eye for ‘attention to detail’;
- Willing to take responsibility for allocated tasks and actions;
- Enjoys working as part of a busy team.
