About Our Team
Calico Homes owns and manages approximately 5000 homes in the Burnley and Padiham area and provides a range of related services and support for customers and in the wider community. The Opportunity
We’re looking for a passionate General Operative to join our dynamic team based in Burnley. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of the repairs and maintenance team by carrying out tasks such as, mould treatments, loft insulation, general building repairs, fencing and can develop any skills that you may already have. Opportunity is also available should you wish to learn new skills within the building trade. You will also be helping to provide our customers with excellent customer services in tenanted, empty homes and without our neighbourhoods.

What We’re Looking For
We believe in recruiting for potential as well as experience. Our ideal candidate will have:
Essential:
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team without supervision.
- Plan and prioritise own workload.
- Experience of working in a customer focussed environment to provide high levels of customer care.
- Experience of working in the building trade/industry.
- Full Driving Licence.
- General knowledge of Health & Safety in the workplace and safe working practices
Desirable:
- Experience of working in Social Housing.
- Experience of working in a property maintenance environment.
- Ability to carry out multi-skilling in other trades in line with Calico’s criteria.
- Ability to use a mobile device with good general IT skills.
- NVQ Level 1 or above in any trade background.
