Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting our catering operations, ensuring high standards of food presentation, safety, and customer service. The Catering Assistant will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, packing orders, and maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the catering environment.

Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and presentation to meet quality standards
- Serve meals and beverages courteously to guests or clients
- Support in setting up and clearing catering areas before and after events
- Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
- Assist with delivery duties, including loading, unloading, and transporting supplies or equipment as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and service areas throughout shifts
- Support with stock replenishment and inventory checks
- Provide excellent guest services by responding promptly to customer needs and inquiries
- Follow phone etiquette when taking orders or handling client communications
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operation of catering services
Skills
- Previous experience in hospitality, food preparation, or restaurant environments is advantageous
- Knowledge of food safety standards and practices
- Experience as a delivery driver is a plus
- Skills in cooking, meal preparation, or culinary arts are desirable
- Background in hotel, barista, or kitchen work can be beneficial
- Strong communication skills for interacting with guests and team members
- Ability to provide excellent guest services and maintain professional phone etiquette
- Organised with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure
- A proactive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness and safety standards
- Having your own car and being based local to East Kilbride is a big advantage
