Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to work four afternoon / evenings a week (Monday - Thursday) within our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating large curtain sider trucks to deliver goods efficiently and reliably on a regular contract. Your expertise in commercial driving, combined with a strong focus on safety and customer service, will ensure timely deliveries and maintain our reputation for excellence. This position offers an energetic work environment where your driving skills will directly contribute to our operational success.
Duties
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure safety and compliance
- Load and unload goods securely onto curtain siders, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to optimize time and fuel consumption while meeting delivery deadlines
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues on the road
- Complete all necessary paperwork, logs, and delivery documentation accurately and promptly
- Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with clients during deliveries, ensuring excellent customer service
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 driving license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed trucks and delivery routes
- Knowledge of current driving regulations and safety standards for large vehicle operation
- Experience in delivery driver roles with a focus on efficient loading/unloading procedures
- Ability to handle physical tasks associated with securing cargo on Curtainsiders
- Strong organizational skills to manage routes, schedules, and documentation effectively
Pay: £15.00-£16.00 per hour
