Digital Spot Varnish Assistant
We are looking for an Autobond Digital Spot Varnish Assistant to assist the machine minder with the operation of the digital spot varnish machine. The digital spot varnish assistant has a range of duties that include being responsible for locating and arranging work for the digital spot varnish machine, assisting with loading in jobs at the feeder of the machine and offloading jobs ensuring the correct documentation is present for each job.
To be successful as a digital spot varnish assistant you should be able to carry out all tasks with high attention to detail, ensuring the area and machine are kept in a clean environment and learn the processes for digital spot varnishing.

- You will have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Previous experience in a similar role or industry will support you in working in our fast-paced environment but this is not required.
What you'll be doing:
- Basic daily tasks in assisting the Machine Operator(s).
- Use a printed WTL (work to list) to locate and retrieve the next available work to be lammed / spot varnished.
- Ensure the Operator has the correct laminate reels to hand.
- To check WI’s (works instructions) to ensure that the correct job requirements are met.
- To follow the WTL (work to list) to ensure no deadlines are missed.
- Highlight any work that needs halving at the start of the shift and seek assistance from your manager for any outstanding halving work who will arrange for this to be done.
- To retrieve pallets of work from the upper warehouse or holding areas, following all safety protocols.
- Dispose of any laminate packaging when retrieving a new reel. Including the use of the correct recycling bins (ie,Green strappex etc).
- To be responsible for the good housekeeping of your work area – a tidy workplace is a happy workplace!
- Use of the correct PPE at all times, in accordance with company policy.
- To provide assistance with any planned or preventative maintenance on your machine.
- To report any low consumable stock to your manager when required.
- To follow and use the correct manual handling techniques when loading / offloading work to / from the machine.
- To put away stock deliveries on arrival.
- Observe and comply with all Health & Safety regulations in line with company policies and procedures.
- To act on any reasonable request as instructed by your manager.
