Brathay has secured ongoing funding to deliver Universal and Targeted Early Help group & 121 support to young people across Bradford. We are excited to have secured ongoing and new funding to deliver activity based learning programmes in groups and 121 mentoring alongside to inspire young people to Build their Brighter Futures.
Together, we will deliver a blend of engaging group activities and one to one support designed to build emotional wellbeing, resilience and a sense of belonging—helping young people Feel like their Best Selves and Thrive within their Communities.
You will be part of Brathay Trust’s vibrant, passionate Communities team, well established within Early Help and strongly connected across statutory and voluntary partners.
As a Youth Worker at Brathay, you will:
- Engage with children and young people referred for support.
- Design, deliver and report on group programmes that promote wellbeing and resilience.
- Provide 1:1 support.
- Help prevent escalating needs and reduce pressure on statutory services.
- Be flexible to work evenings and weekends, to support delivery at a time where Young People can access our support.
- Deliver a wide range of youth participation projects across both school and community settings, working with children and young people from primary age upwards.
- Be responsible for designing, delivering and evaluating high quality, evidence based and trauma informed wellbeing and resilience programmes for children, young people and families. This includes one to one coaching, facilitating group work in schools and community settings, and delivering detached sessions in the community.
What You Can Expect
The work will be diverse and while you may spend time focused on specific projects you will also be required to support in different areas and respond to differing needs. Therefore, the ability to adapt your approach to meet diverse needs, build positive relationships, and create safe, inclusive spaces where young people can participate, learn and thrive is essential.
As part of the work with young people you will work in schools across Bradford to explore topics around relationships and sexual health, delivering RSE sessions safely, confidently and age appropriately, in line with national guidance and Brathay’s values.
Your role will contribute to strengthening young people’s voice, wellbeing and resilience, while supporting them to access wider opportunities and community support where needed – enabling them to Feel like their best Self & Thrive within their Community
