Theatre Royal Drury Lane is looking for someone to join their Venue Technician team. In this role you will carry out a wide range of carpentry and general maintenance works, to help maintain and future proof this historic venue.

What you’ll be doing…
Working as part of the Venue Maintenance team, you will provide support to the Theatre Management and Technical departments.
Maintenance: you will carry out first line maintenance and/or review as appropriate the infrastructure not limited to:
- Fire Stopping & Compartmentation
Working closely with the Technical & Building Services Manager & Technical teams you will:
- Ensure the quality of the venue’s presentation. This will involve introducing practical regimes and arrangements to ensure a standard is maintained.
- Ensure essential supplies are ordered for the building, maintaining appropriate stock levels, with approval from the Technical Manager and Heads of Department.
- Monitor health and safety performance in line with Company policy and statutory provisions always, ensuring a positive and proactive approach to Health & Safety.
- Engage with risk assessments, ensuring they adhered to and recommendations made.
- Ensure that technical areas are kept tidy and well maintained.
- Liaise with contractors on a regular basis, ensuring that the work they are delivering is what is expected and that they are fully briefed on health and safety procedures.
- Ensure the practical application of the Group’s Health and Safety policy in respect of building services management (Weekly Compliance testing).
What we need…
- Carpentry skills and an appropriate qualification such as C&G 6706.
- Knowledge & experience of inspecting and performing maintenance on fire doors.
- Knowledge & experience of installing Fire Stopping and recognising where fire compartmentation requires improvement.
- Good working knowledge of the Health & Safety requirements associated with building maintenance.
- The ability to build positive working relationships.
- Proven ability to successfully balance a busy workload.
- Ability to work either as part of a team or independently.
- Willingness to challenge existing working methods and to recommend new working practices.
- Knowledge of Construction and Design Management 2015.
- Awareness of Technical Standards for Places of Entertainment.
- Happy to undertake First Aid at Work Training.

Salary & Benefits:
£21.63 per hour
Hours of Work: 40 Hours over 5 days, usually Monday - Sunday Inclusive
