Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Manager to oversee the daily operations of our busy culinary establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, managing food production, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining a high standard of hospitality. The Kitchen Manager will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive team environment and ensuring the smooth functioning of all kitchen activities.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and servers, to ensure efficient operation.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain quality standards and consistency.
- Manage food production schedules to meet customer demand while minimising waste.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Organise staff rotas, training sessions, and performance evaluations to promote team development.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control to optimise costs.
- Assist in menu planning and development to reflect current trends and customer preferences.
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen or restaurant environment.
- Extensive background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques.
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively.
- Solid understanding of food safety standards and regulations.
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of culinary trends and menu development is advantageous.
- Experience in serving guests or front-of-house operations is a plus but not essential.
