Job Overview:
Clifton View Care Home are seeking a dedicated and reliable Cook/Kitchen Assistant to join our team.
Shifts may vary however will be between the hours of 6am and 5pm. 30 hours per week.
As a Cook/Kitchen Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our culinary team in food preparation and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about food and looking to gain experience in the culinary industry.
Duties:
- Assist in food preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and marinating meats
- Help with meal assembly and plating under the guidance of the chef or cook
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash
- Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of basic food safety practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
