The Lower New Inn is getting ready to welcome the community back, and we’re looking for a talented, dependable Chef to join our kitchen team.
Our food will be an important part of what makes the pub special, from relaxed lunches and family meals to community events and a proper Sunday roast. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in serving delicious, consistent food and enjoys being part of a close-knit team.
The role
As a Chef, you’ll prepare and cook dishes to a consistently high standard while helping the kitchen run safely, smoothly and efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and cooking dishes in line with our recipes and standards
- Delivering consistent quality, presentation and portion control
- Supporting preparation and organisation ahead of busy services
- Following food safety, allergen and health and safety procedures
- Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen
- Monitoring stock, reducing waste and using ingredients responsibly
- Working closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams
- Helping create a calm, positive and supportive kitchen environment
About you
You’ll have previous experience working in a professional kitchen and be confident preparing fresh, high-quality pub food. A suitable food hygiene qualification would be helpful, although training can be provided.
Most importantly, you’ll be:
- Passionate about producing food you’re proud to serve
- Reliable, organised and comfortable during busy services
- Consistent in your approach to quality, cleanliness and food safety
- A supportive team player who communicates well with others
- Willing to get involved wherever you’re needed
- Available for a mixture of weekday, evening and weekend shifts
