Job Purpose
To safely and efficiently carry out foaming operations within the production process, ensuring refrigeration units are insulated to required quality standards. The role involves preparing, operating, and maintaining foaming equipment while adhering to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare refrigeration units for the foaming process.
- Operate machinery and equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Accurately setting the machine.
- Monitor foaming process parameters such as temperature, pressure, and timing.
- Carry out routine cleaning and basic maintenance of foam bay equipment.
- Report equipment faults, defects, or quality issues to the supervisor promptly.
- Handle and store chemicals safely in compliance with COSHH and safety guidelines.
- Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Work collaboratively with other production teams to meet manufacturing targets and deadlines.
· Rotate between sections to ensure multi-skilled working and cover for staff absences.
Health & Safety
- Follow all company health and safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Understand and adhere to safe handling procedures for chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Participate in risk assessments and safety training as required.
- Immediately report any accidents, incidents, or near misses.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and processes.
- Good attention to detail and quality standards.
- Basic understanding of health and safety practices.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
Desirable:
- Experience working in a foam application or insulation process.
- Knowledge of refrigeration manufacturing or similar industry.
- Understanding of chemical handling procedures (COSHH awareness).
· Previous manufacturing experience is an advantage but not essential – full training provided.
