Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Junior Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will support the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality food and service. Responsibilities
- Assist in the supervision and management of kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations
- Support food preparation and cooking processes to meet quality standards and presentation expectations
- Oversee food production, ensuring consistency and adherence to recipes and portion control
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness within the kitchen environment
- Coordinate with the Head Chef on menu planning, stock control, and ordering supplies
- Lead by example in delivering excellent customer service during service hours
- Assist in training junior team members in culinary techniques, safety procedures, and hospitality standards
- Monitor kitchen operations during shifts to ensure efficiency and compliance with health regulations
- Contribute to creating a positive team atmosphere that promotes professional growth and teamwork
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Supervising experience or leadership roles within a culinary context is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food production, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team under pressure
- Good understanding of restaurant operations, including serving procedures and customer service principles
- Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are preferred but not essential
- Passionate about delivering exceptional dining experiences with attention to detail
