Spratt and Hamer is seeking a skilled and motivated professional to join our growing Building Compliance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tester to become part of an established consultancy with nearly 20 years of delivering UKAS Accredited testing and consultancy services to developers, architects and contractors across the UK.
We are looking for someone who is confident working independently, enjoys building strong client relationships, and takes pride in delivering high-quality testing and technical advice.
About the Role
As a Building Compliance Test Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out Building Regulation compliance testing on a variety of residential and commercial developments. You will work closely with clients on site, providing professional guidance, interpreting results and helping projects achieve compliance with current Building Regulations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting Air Tightness (Part L) testing on residential and commercial developments.
- Carrying out Sound Insulation Testing (Part E) where qualified.
- Producing accurate reports and certification within agreed timescales.
- Providing practical advice to clients where remedial works may be required.
- Managing your own workload and travelling to sites throughout the UK.
- Representing Spratt and Hamer professionally while maintaining our reputation for technical excellence and customer service.
About You
We're looking for an experienced compliance tester who can make an immediate impact.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience carrying out Air Tightness Testing and/or Sound Insulation Testing.
- A thorough understanding of Building Regulations relating to compliance testing.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Confidence working independently and managing site visits.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build lasting relationships with clients, contractors and developers.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in Maths, English and Science.
- A full UK driving licence with no more than three penalty points.
Desirable
- ATTMA Level 1 or Level 2 qualification.
- Sound Insulation Testing experience.
- Knowledge of ventilation testing and wider Building Regulations.
- Experience working on both residential and commercial projects.
