Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Warehouse Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing materials, assisting with shipping and receiving, and maintaining high standards of safety and organisation within the warehouse environment. The position involves physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting, and requires a keen eye for quality control. Working Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm, no bank holidays. Fork lift licence is essential for this role.
Responsibilities
- Handling materials safely and efficiently, ensuring accurate stock movement and storage
- Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Managing stock levels
- Assisting with shipping and receiving processes, including loading and unloading lorries
- Picking and packing orders accurately to meet customer specifications
- Stocking shelves and organising storage areas to optimise space utilisation
- Conducting quality control checks to ensure products meet company standards
- Performing mechanical tasks related to warehouse equipment maintenance or troubleshooting when necessary
- Ensuring the warehouse environment remains clean, safe, and organised at all times
Skills
- Proven experience in materials handling within a warehouse setting
- Proficiency in operating forklift trucks
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures and best practices
- Strong skills in picking & packing orders efficiently and accurately
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively throughout the shift
- Attention to detail for quality control checks and stock organisation
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment
