Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Machinery Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of heavy equipment, including Movers, Tractors, and other vehicles. This role requires a strong mechanical background, proficiency with electrical systems, and the ability to work safely in a demanding environment. Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on heavy machinery such as excavators, forklifts, and other equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Perform repairs including welding, fabrication, soldering, and assembly of components
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out maintenance tasks
- Repair or replace faulty parts, ensuring machinery is restored to optimal working condition
- Read and interpret technical schematics and mechanical diagrams for accurate repairs
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs performed
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies
- Assist with equipment upgrades or modifications as required
- Provide excellent customer service by ensuring machinery is operational with minimal downtime
Experience
- Proven experience in heavy machinery maintenance or repair, ideally with excavators, forklifts, or similar equipment
- Strong electrical experience combined with mechanical knowledge
- Skilled in fabrication, welding, soldering, and working with schematics
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and assembly techniques
- Experience in troubleshooting complex mechanical or electrical issues on heavy equipment
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy machinery maintenance and repair
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a physically demanding environment
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced industrial setting is desirable but not essential
