Job Overview
We are seeking skilled Drivers to join our team. The role involves transporting vulnerable members of our community such as Children, elderly, disabled and wheelchair users to various daily activities or from one location to destination safely. We are looking for people with good driving experience and ability for caring for others or with care experience.
Responsibilities
- To drive vehicles with Wheelchair Access for transporting passengers - To perform routine pickups and drop-offs for activities such as children home to school runs, hospital, GP and health appointments, activity centres for mornings, afternoon and evenings
- May be required to perform moderate lifting tasks such as pushing passenger on wheelchair into vehicle
- To diligent to conduct and manage scheduled journeys in a timely manner
- To be able to communicate effectively with team members and passengers alike and listen to their needs
- To maintain vehicles in good working condition, cleaning the inside and outside whenever necessary
- To be able to maintain transporting log book and incidents report book
Skills
- Taxi driving and private hire experience - Care working experience - Experience driving Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles and proficient in driving various types of vehicles
- Manual handling and lifting capabilities
- Experience in commercial driving is advantageous
- Previous work as a delivery driver is beneficial
- Strong communication skills to interact with colleagues and passengers
- Ability to maintain vehicles regularly
Requirements
- To be able to undertake an enhanced DBS check - To be able to undertake a Safeguarding Training - To be able to obtain a Driver Private Hire Licence - To have a clean full UK driving Licence with at least 2 year driving experience - To be in good health with Dr medical report
