Wade Building Services Ltd is a leading supplier of structural and construction materials to many of the UK's largest housebuilders, contractors and developers. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Technical Apprentice to join our expanding Technical & Estimating Department.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a long-term career within the construction industry. You do not need previous industry experience – we will provide full training, mentoring and support from experienced Technical Engineers.

What You'll Be Doing
Working alongside one of our experienced Technical Engineers, you will learn how technical enquiries are processed from initial enquiry through to quotation and customer approval.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Logging new technical enquiries into our scheduling system
- Saving drawings and project documentation within our SharePoint system
- Preparing project information packs for the Technical Team
- Chasing suppliers for quotations and lead times
- Checking enquiries for missing information
- Contacting customers to obtain additional project details (with support)
- Assisting with the day-to-day administration of the Technical Department
As your knowledge develops, you will receive training in:
- Reading architectural and structural drawings
- Understanding construction products and specifications
- Producing technical quotations
- Technical estimating and product selection
- Working directly with customers, suppliers and construction professionals
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
- GCSE Mathematics – Grade 6 (B) or above
- GCSE Science – Grade 6 (B) or above
- Good computer literacy and confidence using Microsoft Office
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A genuine interest in engineering, construction or technical design
Desirable Qualifications
- Level 3 National Diploma in Construction (or equivalent)
- CAD experience (not essential)
- An interest in structural engineering or building products
