About the role
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Duty Manager to join our team at Inspire: Luton Sports Village. As a Duty Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of our leisure centre, ensuring the smooth operation of the facility and delivering a high standard of service to all our users.
What you’ll be doing
- Ensure that the daily operation of the facility meets all health and safety requirements, allocating tasks as necessary and ensuring compliance with Active Luton policies and standards.
- Ensure that all areas and equipment are safe, clean and maintained for use, directing others within the team to ensure that appropriate, prompt and corrective action take place as required.
- Undertake all aspects of customer care, ensuring all members of staff provide the highest quality standards of service throughout the facility.
- In consultation with facility users, non-users and managers, develop and improve facility programmes, taking responsibility for the recruitment and supervision of additional employees required for programme development.
- Support the wider team with administrative tasks and contribute to continuous improvement across the site.
- Be responsible for the marketing and promotion of the facility, ensuring branding and profile are strong.
- Balance and record cash receipts.
Skills and Qualifications
- Hold a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).
- Level 3 First Aid at Work.
- Pool plant operator certificate.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification or equivalent experience
- NPLQ unit 2 trainer assessor would be desirable.
- Level 1 Swim Teacher Award would be desirable.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to a leisure centre operation.
- Demonstrable experience of supervising and motivating teams, delegating work, training team members - within a leisure environment across wet and dry sites.
- Ability to work within well established procedures and to lead in the review, evaluation and updating of procedures, risk assessments and elements of the facility business plan.
- Ability to work a flexible rota, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
