FIELD CARE SUPERVISOR
Job Title: Field Care Supervisor
Location: Greater Manchester, Cheshire & Merseyside
Reports To: Registered Manager
Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 (Dependent on Experience)
Hours: Full Time – 37.5 Hours Per Week
Driving Licence: Essential
PURPOSE OF ROLE
The Field Care Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality care services across South Manchester Care. The post holder will support the Registered Manager in maintaining service standards, carrying out quality assurance checks, supporting staff in the community and ensuring compliance with company policies, CQC regulations and safeguarding responsibilities.
The role will involve regular travel across Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside to undertake spot checks, supervisions, service user reviews and competency assessments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Assurance
- Conduct regular spot checks on care staff.
- Complete observational assessments and competency checks.
- Monitor care delivery and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure care plans are being followed correctly.
- Complete quality assurance audits as directed by management.
- Report any concerns immediately to the Registered Manager.
Staff Support & Supervision
- Carry out staff supervisions and probation reviews.
- Support newly recruited staff during induction periods.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to care staff.
- Identify training and development needs.
- Monitor staff performance and professional conduct.
- Support disciplinary, investigation and capability processes where required.
Service User Reviews
- Complete service user reviews and quality visits.
- Liaise with service users and families to obtain feedback.
- Ensure care plans remain accurate and reflective of current needs.
- Escalate changes in needs or risks to management.
- Support service user assessments where required.
Safeguarding & Compliance
- Promote a strong safeguarding culture throughout the organisation.
- Identify and report safeguarding concerns immediately.
- Support safeguarding investigations and information gathering.
- Ensure compliance with CQC regulations and company policies.
- Monitor documentation standards and care records.
- Assist with incident investigations and learning outcomes.
Operational Support
- Assist with rota support during emergencies.
- Support package mobilisations and introductions.
- Assist with risk assessments and care planning.
- Attend multi-disciplinary meetings where required.
- Support management during inspections, audits and local authority reviews.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care.
- Previous experience within domiciliary care.
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Good understanding of safeguarding legislation.
- Knowledge of CQC Fundamental Standards.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Competent IT skills.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
- NVQ Level 4 or Level 5 Health & Social Care.
- Previous experience as a Field Care Supervisor, Team Leader or Senior Carer.
- Experience supporting children and young people.
- Experience within complex care services.
- Experience conducting audits and investigations.
