Assistant Manager – Award-Winning Country Pubs
Greedy Gordons is looking for a dynamic, experienced and passionate Assistant Manager to join the team across our award-winning country pubs.
This is a hands-on hospitality role for someone who understands fresh food, outstanding table service and the importance of creating a genuinely memorable guest experience.
You will support the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the business while leading, motivating and developing our front-of-house team.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting the General Manager with daily pub operations
- Leading the team during busy lunch and dinner services
- Maintaining exceptional standards of hospitality and table service
- Training, motivating and supervising team members
- Managing rotas, team deployment and shift performance
- Handling guest enquiries, feedback and complaints professionally
- Supporting functions, events and seasonal promotions
- Monitoring stock, ordering and helping to control costs
- Ensuring compliance with licensing, food safety and health and safety requirements
- Opening and closing the business and acting as the responsible Manager on Duty
- Helping the team achieve sales targets without compromising the guest experience
What we’re looking for
- A minimum of three years’ management or supervisory experience within a quality fresh-food pub, restaurant or similar hospitality business
- Proven experience leading busy food-led services
- A genuine passion for hospitality, fresh food and exceptional customer service
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- A confident, organised and hands-on approach
- Good commercial awareness and an understanding of stock and cost control
- The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays
- A full driving licence and access to transport would be advantageous due to our locations

Pay: £35,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
