Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Plant Engineer to lead the maintenance, design, and optimization of manufacturing processes within our production facility. The Plant Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues, develop innovative solutions, and implement upgrades that enhance productivity. Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and update plant schematics, CAD drawings, and technical documentation using AutoCAD and SolidWorks to support manufacturing operations.
- Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and process inefficiencies to identify actionable improvements.
- Design and implement mechanical systems, including plastics injection molding machinery, assembly lines, welding stations, and fabrication setups.
- Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to automate processes and improve system reliability.
- Oversee fabrication activities, tooling setup, and maintenance to ensure precision and quality standards are met consistently.
- Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles to ensure accurate component manufacturing and assembly.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on optimizing manufacturing workflows, reducing waste, and enhancing safety protocols.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in plastics injection molding, welding, assembly, and fabrication techniques.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks for designing schematics and detailed components.
- Expertise in root cause analysis methods to diagnose complex equipment or process issues effectively.
- Knowledge of GD&T standards to ensure precise manufacturing tolerances.
- Familiarity with tooling design, setup, and maintenance for various manufacturing processes.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma to drive operational excellence.
Pay: £88,000.00 per year
